Belonging to the community of Chorges, the Bay St Michel is one of the most beautiful places at the lake of Serre-Ponçon. The bay is named after the famous little chapel St Michel, built in the XVII-th century in the township of Couche.
It’s the only part of the ancient town that isn’t submerged by the filling of the lake. The bay is situated at 5 km of the village of Chorges (train station, all kind of services and shops in the nearness).
At the bay you can do all kind of activities: sailing, boat journey, tubes/slider, water-ski and rental of motorboats …
You’ll also find some restaurants at your disposal.
Its public beach
The beach ‘Les Pommiers’ (= apple trees) is a beach with shadowed places, facilities and surveillance in July and August.
The hours of surveillance: every day from 11a.m. to 7 p.m.
Facilities: picnic tables, barbecue, sanitary bloc, free parking, access for persons with a handicap.
The campsite is open from end of april until november the 2nd
